Are you passionate about animal welfare and want to make a difference volunteering with animals that have been displaced, abandoned, neglected or abused?
Our animal welfare volunteers make a huge contribution to the work our Partners undertake in animal shelters and animal rescue centres across Jamaica to prevent cruelty, promote kindness to and alleviate suffering of animals.
Animal welfare volunteers will help provide comfort and care to neglected, abandoned, sick or injured animals. Animal welfare volunteers will help feed, clean and care for animals; walk dogs and ensure they are medically fit, spayed or neutered; and re-home animals to loving new owners. Volunteers may also be involved in animal welfare outreach programs – visiting schools teaching youngsters the value and responsibility of animal ownership and animal protection.
Volunteers can join us at any time throughout the year on a volunteer abroad, career break, university research or as part of a summer holiday. Don’t be surprised if you return home with a darling new treasure – adopting a dog is an option!
