Are you a medically trained healthcare professional or student wanting to spend your time abroad providing quality care to patients?
As a healthcare volunteer you will help improve the quality of care to some of the most impoverished people in Jamaica. Skilled professionals in medical, nursing, midwifery, psychology or dentistry can provide vital health and social care in poorly-equipped and under-resourced communities, hospitals or clinics across the island. Students seeking clinical experience can also benefit from shadowing healthcare professionals and obtaining hands-on experience.
Volunteers work side-by-side local healthcare experts and engage in a range of tasks depending on your particular interest, experience or skill. Our health and social care projects range from helping Jamaicans inflicted by the AIDS/HIV virus, to providing medical and welfare advice to young girls coping with teenage pregnancy. You can choose medical volunteer opportunities in the country, coast or city – and make a difference to patients who need you most.
